A label gives a lot of information about the product available in the packaging. So, it plays a very important in the packaging industry, especially in the bottling industry. The label gives information about the name of the product, its manufacturing and expiry date, the price and the ingredients found in it. All this information is very important to the consumer who is buying the product. Hence, the label is of very high importance.
The labeler machine is of three types - the manual labeler, the semi-automatic labeler and the automatic labeling machine. The labeling machine consists of the label dispenser and the label applicator. The label dispenser dispenses the labels, while the label applicator applies it to the packaging.
The manual label dispenser is used to holds the roll of labels and assists in pulling the backing from the label. There are three types of manual label dispensers and applicators. They are - label caddies, hand held and table top.
Label caddies work like tape dispensers. It is made of plastic. It can hold multiple label rolls. When a roll of labels is put into the machine, it passes through a set of rollers. The label is pulled at, and this strips the label from the backing liner. After the label is dispensed, the label is grabbed and stuck on to the object. Label caddies have the advantage of being easy to use and easily affordable. It is also portable and can easily be taken from one place to another.
The hand held manual labeling machine works when a button or a lever is pressed. This dispenses the label which is rolled over the packaging product. It is built on the mechanism of a spring-loaded pressure arm. When the arm is pressed, the label is fixed firmly to the packaging. This is very good where there are many labels to be put on packaging boxes and bags. This calls for a repetitive action that can be handled very well by these machines. This is small enough to fit on to a table top or a counter top. Its advantage is that it is easy to use and very affordable. It is portable and can be taken from one place to another. It is very useful in places where moderate to fast labeling is necessary.
Table top manual label machines are electronic units. They dispense labels automatically. Some of them depend on the motor and some others on the sensor. The sensor is able to find out when the label has been removed from the label dispenser. Then it does the peeling and removes the backing from the label. After this is done, the dispenser moves on to the next label. Then the label is applied by the applicator. The advantage is that it is very easy to use and goes through the process of labeling very quickly. The machines can have up to a 10'' roll and there are units that are available with rewind units for the used liners. This sort of a labeling machine is very useful for small factories such as small wineries, cottage industries, small food and cosmetics manufacturers and pharmaceuticals. It is not right for big industries. It is made of sturdy stainless steel and anodized aluminum.
The main purpose of the manual labeling machine is to position the label at the appropriate place on the packaging. Some might need a single label. Others might require a different label at the front and the back. All these specifications can be met by the manual label dispensers and applicators. Being easy to use it is a must in any packaging industry.
